I think our resident hedgehog, Harvey, is dead :-o(

I havent seen him for five days now and mrwarpig said that there was a squished one on the road the other morning. I am gutted. I really enjoyed watching him in the mornings. Even mrwarpig said he felt sorry for the 'wee b*gger', and he has a heart of stone.

Sorry, not a question, just had to tell someone.

Awww :(

He'll be having a good old knees up at Rainbow Bridge xx
Sad , he was just crossing the road to see his flat mate
That's sad warpig - they're lovely little characters but too often they get squashed. I saw another badger dead at the side of the road yesterday and that really upsets me.
Oh - am sorry warpig3 - They are such lovely creatures - we have hoggies in the garden - have become very attached to them. Always upsets me when the hoggies are killed on the road, and any other animal such as badgers etc.

Keeping fingers crossed that it wasnt Harvey xxx
Since he's ur hedgehog u should clear him off the road so he doesn't puncture any tyres. His wife probably kicked him out as she has babes to deal with! U should check they're ok?

thank you all, fingers and toes crossed alfie.
Awww warpig , I hope it isn't Harvey , there are a number of hedgehogs around and , unfortunately , some do get run over. Let's hope he is having a snooze somewhere close .

Thats what I am hoping BM but I keep watching out the window each morning and evening and there is no sign of him, perhaps he has found somewhere better to live (not hedgehog heaven).
Oh warpig3 - I'm still keeping fingers crossed for Harvey's safe return.

I am missing Yellowbeak this morn - (tame old blackbird that has been visiting us for what seems like years!). He always starts the dawn chorus (4 am) then waits for his breakfast outside the kitchen door (wee bit of apple etc) - but this morning no sign of him :o( I miss the daft old birdie even if he does take advantage of my good nature Lol!! What a character!!!

Hopefully, he is having a lie-in this morn and he will make an appearance soon. :o)x

Oh I hope Yellowbeak turns up, its amazing how attached we get to these little creatures. I knew as soon as I gave him a name he would become part of the family, big mistake.
Oh warpig, I do hope Harvey turns up. And alfie, you must be missing Yellowbeak terribly!

I even named my chocolate easter bunny (Percival); consequently he has been much harder to eat :(

I love hedgehogs, they are just so snuffly!

Thanks leelapops. Your Percival story made me laugh, did it work, is there any of him left ?
Lol leelapops!!!! That made me laugh re percival!!!!

You are so right warpig3 - give the little critters a name (even choc bunnies!!!) and it is very difficult - they just seem to be part of the family ....... even percival!!!!!! :o) :o) xx
Well girls, you know, I felt it would be cruel not to eat him! Admittedly, he was huge, and I am only down to his wee nose, really. His ears were MASSIVE!

Oh and let me tell you something that might make you animal people smile: when Mr Pops first brought him home for me, he left him on the dining table. We were sat in the back room (our front room, conversely!) and I heard a low growling....When I got up to see what the matter was, Jack (our Border Collie) was in the dining room, giving Percival the evil eye, growling with his ears flat to his head! I had to put Percival on the floor so Jack could figure out he was harmless!

It happened again the other day; Percival currently resides in the kitchen, and one day I was upstairs, and the back door was open for Jack. I heard him growl then bark, and he wouldn't settle, so I went downstairs, and there he was, rigid with territorial annoyance! Poor baby. Them foil-wrapped bunnies will get you!

Lol leelapops!!!!!

You are very good tho!! If I had got a big choc easter bunny uuummm I think the foil would be the only thing left by now!!!! Just can't resist chocs!!!! :o)xx
alfie, it is just so hard to get through, and I am no chocolate dodger, believe me ;) I have been fondue-ing parts of him (that sounds so wrong, sorry Perc!).

The sooner I eat him, the less upset Jck will be. Would you like to pop by and join me in a mass-chocolate-murder?

x
oooo errr!!!! Poor jack!!! Would love to but its a wee way to travel from mine to yours!!!! Just keep munching away and enjoy!! May go out and purchase some choccies myself now!!!! Lol!!! :o) xxx
Go on alfie hun, you know you want to! Chocolate is always worth braving the rain for! IF you have rain that is...

Whereabouts are you?
