Hi, one of my cats came in twice with this type of wound, except in his neck, I think he had been fighting with another cat, it is quite important to keep a puncture wound open as it has to heal from the bottom up, each time you clean it squeeze it gently to get the muck out, until only blood comes out, then apply the powder, may I ask what you are using for this? I was in the army with dogs and this is how we treated puncture wounds, I also live on a farm and minor injuries like this we treat ourselves, unless you are really worried and/or the wound is hot I personally wouldn't go to the vets with this, again I say if you are really worried then of course go, I have experience so I wouldn't.
