Which kennels?

Hey all!

Having decided to put both Ashke and Cleo in kennels for a week in September instead of splitting them up, Im now unsure of which one to use!

We have had Ashke in one kennels for a couple of long weekends before, and they are very good. Based on a farm, with kennels in 3 different barns for small, medium and large dogs. We paid �9 8 per night for Ashke and I do think it is very good.

I found the link on a review page where someone had given them 4.5 out of 5!

Would I be mad to stick with the kennels I know are pretty good from experience over the above kennels? It does also depend on if there are any spaces!
And is the above kennel going to cost me a small fortune? Looks like it lol! Although they do say there is a 25% discount for 2 dogs together!

Just looking for some advise from you guys & people who are possibly more experienced in using kennels and stuff!

Go and have a look at these kennels for yourself, but personally I would be reluctant to change from a kennel I knew and where I knew Max was settled to a different one on the word of a stranger. I've used the same kennels since Max was about 18 months, normally for 2 week ends a year over the last 6yrs, and tho I always feel a twinge of guilt when I leave him (dont we all) I'm happy that he will be well cared for. If I had to take him to a strange kennels I 'd probably worry all week-end. Of course it depends on availability but if you can book in a reasonable time it's usually no problem ans most decent kennels have facilities for two dogs to share

Have just tried calling our normal kennels, and they are fully booked! So tried the other new one, and so are they!

So that is that idea scrapped anyway and starting from square 1 lol!

Just tried calling another one with a 5/5 review (looking at ones with high reviews to see if they have spaces and visit first)

But they are not allowing any visits which rings alarm bells! So hmmm, and would be charing �19 a day for 2 dogs together which seems a bit expensive to me?!

That's the trouble at this time of year people are going on holiday and every where is booked so a spur of the moment can cause a problem. In regards to the kennel that wont allow visits they certainly wouldn't have my trade. I think too much of Max, to leave him at a place that i've not at least had a walk round. When I was looking for kennels for Max I checked several out before Sandra a friend of mine who used to run obdience classes mentioned the ones I now use saying quite a few of the people who went to her classes used them and they all seemed happy with them. When I phoned them they suggested that I visit and Iwe've been with them since

Although I don't know the current owners, I used to do relief kennel management for this kennels at Stretham, on the A10 near Ely:

They were lovely kennels and the facilities were very good.
You could try them, and see if they have a vacancy.

Coincidentally, the previous people I used to kennel sit for had Samoyeds.

Hey all,

Thanks for your replies, and ta Lankeela for the link, although that is quite far away at over an hour from us.

Have spoken with my partners sister (who is also coming on holiday with us) and she has recommended the kennels that she has her 2 booked in for, for the same week. They have a Ridgeback and St bernard!

So have given them a call, and have a temporary booking, and will go and visit, but I know that she would never put her dogs anywhere that wasn't good!
