do frogs spend their winters in the garden or in the pond?. I would like to cover the pond with netting but would I be preventing them getting out or back in.

they go find a dark hole and hibernate. why do you have to put a net over anyway?
Frogs are amphibians. They need to come out onto land.

Dear Gravthedog Thanks for the info. I saw on "Gardeners World" that we should be putting a net over to stop leaves falling in.l
one thing to bear in mind if you do net the pond. Depending on where you are in the country and what the weather is like, frogs can start to breed as early as January. So once the net has achieved its purpose of catching the leaves I would think about taking it off again.
Some frogs may hibernate in the mud at the bottom of your pond, others may find a muddy ditch.
