Have you ever considered writing a book? You have such a wealth of knowledge that I am sure this would be a good step for you. It's not just your knowledge, you have an amazing ability to explain things in a well written way that makes understanding so easy.

Hi Fakeplastic...a great idea, just one huge BUT though!!! If New Forester did decide to write a book, he might not have time to post such brilliant answers here, and then we'd lose out on his knowledge till the book was published!!!

Thank you all, it's very good to be appreciated. Fakeplastic -- as well as being the most modest person in the world by far, I'm also incredibly good-looking... What do you suggest I write a book about? Just sitting here, waiting for inspiration... Though really Lindy Loo is right -- I haven't got enough time for AB as it is. Farming, bees, horses -- and then there's paid work from time to time. I'm certainly not that particular Romany, Steve, and have no Romany connections as far as I know, though I have one or two mysterious ancestors I haven't yet been able to pin down (and I do have this strange urge to find out what hedgehog tastes like). But I think I'm really more of a natural peasant than a wanderer.

What sort of book? Well if, Hugh Fernley=Whatsisname can write books and have a television series then a good looking chap like you can do even better!! How about short stories to start with - sort of like James Herriott, and then who knows ...... As long as we get a mention in the acknowledgements!!
