Has anybody read this book by Chris Pascoe? He also wrote "You can take the cat out of Slough".

They are funny and really good reading. I have actually read them twice.

Brum is a lovely cat that gets into loads of stupid situations. Setting fire to himself seemed to be a regular thing in his early days.

This is the amazon listing for them. They are easy reading and lighthearted - perfect for reading in bed before going to sleep.

I read A cat called Birmingham a few years ago and enoyed it. Another good author is Deric Longden, sorry can't remember what is books are called.
I haven't read the ones you mentioned wolf but I have read some of Derek Longdens (like TT I can't remember the titles. They were also very funny but could be sad too
oh yes ive read A cat called birmingham and the other book, laughed till i cried. Love deric longdens books as well, The cat that came in from the cold, Enough to make a cat laugh, are just a few of the titles, warning do not read these books while sitting on a bus, ive got some very funny looks from laughing out loud. Another good cat author is marilyn edwards, and her cats of moon cottage books.

I will look out the Deric Longden books.

I know that we all have funny stories that we tell about our cats - Merlin once set fire to her tail and she is about the most inelegant cat I have ever seen. But trying to write down the story so that it is both clear to the reader and amusing to read is an art form.

I am just up so I am off in search of food.
Ive seen some past posts where you've all been sharing stories on how our cats know when we are sad and ill, in the book the cat that came in from the cold, thermal (the cat of the story) picks up on the fact deric's partner is partially sighted. You must read them.
Thanks wolf and everyone else (for the book reviews!), I'll try & get hold of them, too - they sound like they're just my sort of reading!
While we're on the subject, I can recommend Derek Tangye's books - they're about how he and his wife gave up their London lives & moved to Cornwall to grow flowers. There's a vast assortment of animals in their lives, mainly cats, but there's a donkey, too. They're all lovely true stories and well worth reading. Sadly both the author and his wife have now passed away, but they had a wonderful life in Cornwall.
I love Deric Longden's books. Haven't heard of Chris Pascoe, his books sound good, a treat in store there I think.
Right wolf63 you are to blame if i get funny looks from fellow passengers on the bus tomorrow, im going to re-read A cat called birmingham, then You can...etc etc. lol

Brum sounds like a great character. He is either really old now or has gone on to destroy cat heaven.

My Merlin often leaps from my bed onto the top of the portable TV - and she usually doesn't jump high enough. She whacks into the side and slowly slides down - any other cat would somersault in the air and get back to the bed - but she just slides down.

The force of her hitting the TV usually shunts the TV into the video player which , on one occasion, was pushed over the edge of the unit and was left dangling by the wires.

I am sure Frankie just laughs at her from his cosy little bed in the spare duvet.
they sound really good, I am going to look on amazon right now.
A cat called Bristol visits where i work lol!!!
