Why is there such a hoo haa with regards to hunting in this country? Back in my home country it was quite normal to go bear hunting on Sundays with the family, and yet over here you get lynched if you kick a dog.

See! This is what I'm talking about.

The UK is full of people like yourselves who believe that Animals are humans trapped in animal bodies.

So it's a case of 1) if it hasn't got 'feelings' it's ok 2) if it doesn't feel pain it's not so bad.

Once again you are using 2 human qualities and applying them to the animal race. How do you know that animal pain is the same as Human pain? How do you know that animal 'feelings' are the same (if any exists at all).

You don't know! And yet to assume they must be like us. when a jockey uses a crop on a horse, it's not the same pain as when it's used on a human. When a fish gets a hook through it's lip, it's not the same as snaring yourself on barbed wire.

Animals should have the same rights as humans? I think it's about time we give them the vote and let them run the country.

I think Ahmed may be joking

Fanks phakeplastic!

I did actually mean to say kick, but if he ever tried any funny stuff like licking my dog, I'd still go after him!!

Ahmed,  I don't think it's even worth discussing this any further.  If you have the intelligence to do some research into pain, you will find that animals feel as much pain as we do.  It is pretty obvious - when you inflict an injury onto an animal it cries out in pain much the same as you would when we kick you into eternity!!

the whole country is one big P C circus.

ooooh! don't hurt the animal, especially if they're furry.

"They're just like us" - No they most definitely are not.

"We love animals...they make it easy to like and love them."

Yes, because they are uncomplicated. Problem being that people like yourselves love them in a human way and start treating them like handicapped people. It's certainly not for the pet's benfit, it's for the selfish owner who keeps the animal to make them feel better.

Posts in this thread that have descended to the level of personal abuse have been removed - and, as always, will continue to be.

my mother always said, 'sleeping with a prostitute is like dancing with a cat or dog on theit back legs, your enjoying it but you dont know if they are'.

Admit it everyone you have tried dancing with a cat/dog.

I was apalled when I read this question & impressed by the intelligent replies. I would like to add one thing, does the questioner realise that we as humans are still animals & that all creatures are here for a reason . We feel pain & so do all creatures regardless of size or shape & the way we understand & treat our animals says a lot of things about person. There is an old saying that a man/woman will treat his/her partner the way he/she treats animals & I have found this to be true. The questioner must be a young man because when he is older he will be more aware of his own mortality & hopefully will realise that there is a place for all forms of life. Having said that, with his attitude, I very much doubt it. Has he ever heard the expression " Do as you would be done by". Spinner.
Are you trying to say that if an animal doesn't feel pain then it makes it OK to give it a good kicking??

Animal protection is not about protecting animals because 'they are just like us' it is about preventing sick people inflicting pain on defenseless creatures because it is wrong, just the same as the NSPCC is in place to protect children.
