I have a new kitten, 12 weeks old. Just got her today at 12 noon. It's now 7pm & she hasn't been to the loo - wees or poos. She's gone into the scratch box & sniffed around a bit but then jumped out.
Need I worry?

It's now 9.20pm. She's still not gone to the loo but has actually squatted in the scratch box, but keeps jumping out again.
She's happily chasing a moth right now & has been eating, drinking & playing. And sleeping on my knee.

I just went to the loo myself & she followed me in where she proceeded to wee on the bath mat - & a lot of wee it was!
Surely she's house trained?
It could be that she doesn't like the litter in the tray, the depth of the tray or maybe she wants a lid on (Or taken off) the tray.

My cats don't go to the loo often during the day.
Aaah bless!!!! you lucky thing (the kitten not the wee problem!! ha ha)
She may not be very clever or she may not like the cat litter. Did she have a tray in the house where you got her from? WHat brand of litter did they use.. Some cat litters are made from a compressed paper and some look like small stones... she may just not be used to the smell and feel of the one you have bought. Try to find out the one she is used to and get some QUICK!!! before she pees on your bath mat again!!!
MWB:

You clearly don't have any hobbies, do you? Either that or there's nothing worth watching on telly at your abode ?
(Joke !!!!!!!!!)

Enjoy your little moggie - she'll hopefully give you many years of laughs and joy - and, with any luck, no heartache!
a fail safe trick i have used with many kitties is to try and get a few bits of the gravel type litter wet in a spot the kitten has peed in, then put that in the box with the kitten (needs to happen quickly for learning/association to occur). the kitty learns quickly and the box smells like it is a toilet and is usually a quick process. the older a cat is the harder/longer it will be to train it. good luck x
