Bird Tables
3 Answers
I'm in the process of making a bird table and since reading bizzylizzy's post I've been thinking, just what are the advantages or disadvantages of an open table. I've always put a roof on the ones I've made before but what do other people think?

The roof will keep seeds dry and stop them going into a soggy mush if it is wet. Also I like to think I am giving the birds a little protection from sparrowhawks etc whilst they are feeding. Also I have noticed I get quite a bit of poo on the roof but none on the actual table but when I used a table without a roof the birds would often poo there as well.
