Your lucky he don't have your toes as well if he is of that breed.

Can you distract him by having more attractive objects to nick.
Otherwise you can buy stuff that deters them but it probably works out more expensive than new socks.

Or wait till he graduates to your partners new shoes.

You're lucky. When my dog was a puppy she used to eat them whole. Great fun later on,as you can imagine!!

It has something to do with your smell being on them but as to why they should want to do it?

My last dog used to steal my underwear. It is hard not to laugh when you are sitting talking to visitors and he wandered in with a bra in his mouth;

We used to have a Cocker Spaniel who was very fond of grabbing socks, underwear etc in his little gob and, if we weren't careful when anyone came to visit they'd be greeted by the sight of him standing there, bum and tail wagging ten to the dozen, and a pair of unwashed kecks being offered as a welcoming gift!

Ever so slightly embarrassing on the odd occasion it happened, but everyone saw the funny side!
