I Have a ginger & white 10 month old moggy who is a sun lover, (when not chasing rodents). I have heard there is a 'sun block' available & would like to hear from anyone who has any info.
My vet advised a children's sun cream for a cat with white ears, as it is the ears which are vulnerable to cancer, also the top of the nose if it is white. If your cat's ears are ginger that will be ok. If they are white, you need to check with your vet for a suitable suncream, which won't harm the cat if it licks some when it washes itself. Also during the summer the suncream should be applied every day. I would suggest that you discuss this with your vet. Best wishes.
There is a product called Bimeda it is chemical free so cats are ok licking it.The firm is Dublin based Cross Vetpharm, you might be able to buy it on line but I would think most good pet stores should sell it. Hope this is of some use.g.
