I recently found a small creature in my sons room and i'm not sure what it is. its about 2mm to 4mm in length, it has similar features to a maggot and woodlouse. Its white/cream in the centre and dark on either end. It appeared quite hairy, it also sheads its skin as i found a shell that turns to dust once touched or moved. Can anyone tell me what it could be? they are also quite soft and squidgy

This sounds rather like a carpet beetle larva.  There is a picture of the beastie at www.the-piedpiper.co.uk/th8f.htm  so you can compare your creature for a firm diagmosis.  Hope this helps.
