Sick goldfish

As sad as it sounds i love my goldfish to pieces. I am very worried about one of them. I notoced this morning that one of them has red blotches on all of their fins. Kind of like burst blood vessels!! My mum said that it is probably stress but nothing has happened to stress him out!! The other fish is fine. Can anyone help??

Hi, how many fish do you have and how big is their tank?
There is a possibility that it could have nitrite poisoning....this is caused by bad water quality....do you run a filter in your tank?

I have two fish, but the other one is fine. Ive just noticed that the healthy ones tail is drooping a bit. Yes i do have a filter, i clean it regularly and change the water regularly too.

When you clean the filter, how do you clean the spnges inside it? These should only be rinsed in old tank water....not under clean running water as it will kill off the 'good' bacteria in your filter.
How big is the tank?
Do you have a freshwater test kit that you can use? You need to know your ammonia and nitrite levels....or the fish that you love....are going to die!
