why does my dog sometimes eat others dogs excretia? I do my best to watch him when I take him out but he's very quick.

I have read it could be a couple of things
Some say dogs do it for nutrients they are lacking in their diets, but if you are feeding a good quality dog food, this is unlikely. The only trouble is if it eats it and the other dog has worms or other Parasites so will yours..

they do it because it has undigested food in it and therefore smells like a food source
Have you tried giving him dog food? Works wonders when they're hungry!
Its probably because of the meat in their diet that your dog doesnt get, try changing the dog food.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my question even houchenshead who seems to think I starve the dog, which obviously I don't, my husband reckons the dog is better fed than him! Anyway thanks to you all.
