Yes poodi loads especially peacocks, brimstones and painted ladies (loads of them last year). I suppose it depends on the area and environment you're in though.
Plant weeds, then you'll attract plenty! Everything from milkweed to nettles seems to be a food plant for the caterpillars, which is key, whereas the plants we plant in our gardens, in general, are not. (There is a reason why the 'cabbage white' butterfly is so common in gardens !)
Naturally, given the above, we get plenty of butterflies in this 'garden' (or 'jungle') but it helps that there's wild woodland edge and rough ground all about.this area.
Like Fred, I have a garden (well jungle) full of all sorts, including weeds and have loads of different types of butterflies. If you google, you can get lists of all the plants loved by bees and butterflies.
Peacocks, cabbage white, red admirals, painted ladies, orange tip and probably holly blues small blue jobs also a few other odd brown jobs, lots of moths as well including the privet hawk moth and the one with the red and black on the wings, two ponds so dragonflies and chasers too So far at least 5 different bumblebees as well
Birmingham sort of on the edge of town only one street away from a really large park with a conservation area, thinking of trying sugar water feeders this year
