Osprey update - 22 June

Dear all,

A beautiful morning is reported in Scotland, and the wardens can barely believe what they see. She's still not right (and who would expect it, at 27 years old) but whatever Lady suffered at the weekend seems to have passed. They are all waiting for breakfast, but Dad - at present - is playing April Fool and only bringing sticks. However he has been brilliant so hopefully is fishing now. Lady has flown again. Fingers crosssed, and breath still bated!

It does get VERY busy at times, so if you can't get on, keep trying, and sometimes you can read the blog if you can't see the action (and perversely, sometimes the other way round).

Hi boxy. I am surprised I have had no problems logging on at all (so far). It is a wonderful sight to wake up to - the power of prayer eh? Will look forward to catching up with lady this evening. ttfn

morning ttfn. I think there is more traffic in the evenings - people (like us) have time after work, and over the pond is also switched on then. It was very busy last night. It looks a stunning morning on the loch.

good morning to you both - it's great to see her looking so good but still no breakfast and she's telling him about it !!

Morning steff, how's Oz this morning? The site has been so busy, and no wonder. There is a fly buzzing in their microphone - drowning out the cheeping. Dad is probably tired and Lady's on her feet again so he may think he can have a morning off - not yet, I think! - hopefully fish is not too far away.

Just been to the site for a quick look and it's good to see the lady looking so well after the scare over the weekend. Mum and chicks all scannng the sky wandering were dads got to with breakfast otherwise fingers crossed all's well.

typical, just go off site for a couple of minutes and miss dad returning, didn't see what he brought back but they seem to be having breakfast at the moment

He brought two fish in quick succession and when those were gone, he came with a third, and Lady had a good tuck -in, then fed one of the chicks, while he did the other.

I'm turning in soon, for the first early night since Saturday - it's such a relief to see her looking brighter

It is amazing to see the Lady of the Loch looking so well, feeding herself and the chicks. Is'nt Mother Nature a wonderful healer, long may it continue.

Hi Nosha, Mum's the one in the nest most of the time, looking a bit bedraggled but much better - yes the 2 chicks are very well camouflaged in the nest, when they lie down you can hardly see them. All seems well this evening, today's blog is massive!

Chicks are calling for brekkie, can't see Lady yet in current shot.

I am about 15 miles from the nest. It is quite a pleasant morning and 'mother nature' is making one he11 of a noise outside my window - and that is the centre of Perth.

I tried sleeping but my little ornithologist (my avatar) is quite vocal about his hobby.

I am sure that Lady and family would consider Frankie to be a mere snack.

Dawn has now broken - no more infra red. Cam shot still showing only half the nest and no sight yet of lady but the chicks are calling

Hi Susan - you still up? Frankie has a lovely face - too good for osprey fodder. WIsh lady would come into view though

Thank goodness - and then there were 3

ha hem - thought a chick was going backwards over the edge of the nest then, if that had come out of the front end it would have been called projectile vomit

Lady left the nest again for a couple of minutes and then the laird arrived - empty- beaked. He has gone to try again no doubt.

The other chick has now 'abluted' - you wouldn't want to stand under that Scots Pine. Lady is now feeding the chicks but It wasn't from the lairds last visit as I saw him arrive. Lady is eating but she does seem slow in swallowing even small bites
