hare and snakeskin
8 Answers
Not really a question but never mind. I just love living where I do - just had a great walk along the riverbank - as soon as we got out of my gate 'The Fleet One' put up a hare which he chased away from me - the hare doubled back with dog in hot pursuit - both passed by within two feet of where I was standing then the hare escaped through the fence. It wasn't ever in any danger - TFO is fast (border collie) but no match for a hare. we carried on across the bridge and way up along the bank. on the way back I spotted a sloughed off snake skin right on the path in a very open position. I am quite aware of where I put my feet (lived in Africa) so am fairly confident it wasn't there on my way out. saw six swans together, lots of moorhens - a family of them with six babies, ducks and a heron. Great.

I appreciate not everyone wants to live in the sticks but it must be awful for those who do but for whatever reasons can't and have to stay in town. I'm definitely a 'give me a home where the buffalo roam' type.
I'm lucky too, and very much appriciate it, I took the dogs out earlier two Buzzards playing on the termals, and doing their wonderful call. Sparrow Hawk and Red Kite, spotted (no sign of the Hobby I saw a couple of weeks ago though), loads of rabbits, phesant and partridge. Masses of butterflys too, must get a book as I havent a clue what most of them are! Bliss
