chinese zodiac

I always thought there was a cat in the chinese zodiac but I'm not sure if I was just thinking of the tiger. Does anyone know? Also does anyone know somewhere I can get the story of the race they had?

There is a tiger in the chinese calendar but no cat. Legend has it that when the years were given out to the animals, the rat told the cat the wrong day so he missed out!

I've heard of the legend that delilahcat mentions, too. But I also seem to have read or heard somewhere that in the Chinese calendar the cat and the rabbit are interchangeable. Bizarre, I know!
