You may find that codliver oil will help, a capsule a day , or asmall amount on his food. Also massage the leg gently as often as you can, make sure he has a nice soft bed, floors can be very hard. Hope this helps.

has the vet prescribed anything? I know that dogs can take steroids short term and aspirin long term for arthritis
For arthritis we gave my dog glucosamine in the form of a food supplement which REALLY helped. He started of with one joint pain, but as he got older became stiffer until we started medication.

He also took some prescribed painkillers from the vet (not metacam which made him hyperactive...), but if your dog is not constantly stiff, there may be little point.

Do start a mobility food supplement early - we wish we'd discovered it years before. Incidently.... we moved him to Omega pet food for older dogs - it contains natural supplements and it really worked. Again we were slow to change his food as he had always had meat in the past, but he loved it!

Hope your yorkie gets better!
