Bering plauged with a blooming mouse or mice in my room. I have a houseshare and have a room on the bottom floor. Aside from a few traps is there any smell, incense etc that would keep the blighters away???
TIA

mice get into houses through holes, you must have seen the tom and jerry cartoons. I have found that bocking up holes big enough for a mouse to get in (about1/2"diameter) and not leaving doors open usually does the job. It is also a good idea to get a few mousetraps, bait them with bread not cheese and leave them somewhere where you can see them. You will know when there is a mouse in the house because it will be in the mouse trap.
No cats allowed...boo (Soon as I get back into my own place, thats first on my list)
I reckon I may try one of these plug-in gizmos....I just have this horrid image of me plugging it in, and then as I switch it on, this deluge of rodents come pouring out of every nook and cranny!!
Thanks for the answers

black pepper...ground up finely and sprinkled around the perimeters of the room.... not an unpleasant smell works quite well...if you feel like going for overkill get some black pepper aromatherapy oir 20 drops to pint of water and lightly spray everywhere else if you add clove oil you will repel spiders at the same time
When we were having problems my wife bought one of those devices that emits a sound and we haven't had any problems since (apart from the time a mouse was sitting happily next to the device!).
However I have read that they don't really work.
It may be worth making some enquiries via the net first.
I think most houses have mice, usually in the back of the fridge, under the kitchen units and under floorboards- it's just that some house owners don't notice and others don't like to mention it. They can get through a hole the width of a pencil so are difficult to keep out

I posted a thread on here on Monday as a mouse ran across my worktop while I was cooking tea, scared me to death!!! Bought 2 traps from B & Q - only cheap ones and no bait is needed and we've caught one last night and there was another in it this morning-we must have a whole family living in our kitchen - yuk :(
