Most mornings on our rear garden we discover a faeces which is black in colour,about 2inches long,not very thick.There isn't a pile of it,just one,any ideas what it is.Mick

Hedgehogs.
hedgehog, foxes usually leave a small pile.
I go for hedgehogs too. Mine usually use the concrete path. Judging by the skid marks, I think they just void when they are ambling along and don't even stop.
My guess is hedgehog too, sometimes quite slimy looking.

Thanks everyone,I think I'll go for hedgehogs,at least that should calm the wife down.
