Mines a wingebag as well. I think he just likes the sound of his own voice.

How old is she?
When was the last time a vet examined her? She could be in serious pain...
try the wheelie bin
murhy never shuts up, contantly bugging me, she sleepwhinges as well!
how old is your cat.......
Sound like she might be in pain. This cold weather probably 'worked' up her arthritis.

My cat is 8yrs old she isn't ill i'm sure she only crys when walking around she doesn't when lies down, she is alert and eating well. I have tried putting her outside when she crys but that doesn't work neither does ignoring her.
Now that's got me thinking. How would I know if Brian's in pain if he doesn't shut up anyway?

I only have to look at him and he starts meowing...
a cat in severe pain will take itself somewhere quiet and purr rather than cry. if your cat is getting on a bit it may be a senility thing...they get a bit 'lost' and crying is a way of trying to maintain contact

Don't think its arteritis as she can still run round fast when playing and jump on and off everything.
take her to the vets if you're worried. i would worry if murph was quiet eg she had an upset stomach yesterday and just lay on the bed sleeping instead of the normal, following me around and commenting on everything

Definitely let the vet have a look at her, if for no other reason than your own peace of mind...
Go to the vet to make sure that she is okay.

If she is okay think of her as a toddler - she wants food/comfort/attention etc and, since she is the boss, she will nag you until she gets it.

Good luck to you - I have two chatty cats and they can drive you nuts, but they are good company.
If she is an old cat, she may well be developing a form of dementia. Our old girl , now 21yrs, has been gradually doing this more over the last 2 years. She is not in pain, eats well but has almost lost her hearing now. I understand from our vet that this is by no means uncommon, so as long as she's not hungry or thirsty & is washing herself, don't worry. The first thing a cat does if in distress, is to stop grooming itself, followed by not eating & hiding away.
My Tom was the same after Bingo (my dog) died, he roamed the house making an awful noise, they had been together 13 years and I think he just missed him,
As others have suggested, you need to get her checked out by the vet.

However it occurs to me that my friend had to phone the vet recently because her dog was acting strangely (including eating a poinsettia!) and constantly agitated. The vet stated that it was likely that road salt had got into her paws, and recommended bathing them with warm water (which seemed to do the trick). It could be something as simple as that which is upsetting your feline friend.

I'm with the others who suggested getting her checked over. If nothing else she gets a general checkup to make sure she is all healthy.

If it's a new thing for her, I'd want to get it checked out. One of mine was much more vocal. I rescued them together and they have almost had a role reversal that way. Mish was very generally vocal then quietened down as she settled in, Nush became a lot more chatty as she settled in.

For them it was reactive so I'd want to try and find out if yours is reacting to anything by being more vocal such as pain or being unsettled about something.
