Did German evacuate its children from cities like the British did?

As part of our school topic we would like to know if Germany had child evacuees like we had in Britain? If so where did they send them? Was it to the countryside or did some go abroad?

just prior to the start of the war there was an evacuation movement, but this was mainly german jewish children, see kindertransport here:

in respect of german civilian children they did. this was called kinderlandverschickung. around 2million or so children were sent to 'klv' camps.
