Does anyone know if its harmful to cat to let them eat flies? my cat loves to chase them down and eat them. If its no harm I cant deny him the thrill of victory.

I don't think it does. Mine have all eaten flies.moths. midges, spiders, daddylonglegs etc...all their lives & seem in fine health (all 10 of them) It does make me want to puke tho!!

never had any adverase affects with my kitty, but try to get to the bees/wasps before your cat does, a sting in the mouth could be nasty.

Insects and such like contain Taurine, which cats need as part of their diet in nature. It is added to commercial catfoods but not present in fresh chicken etc.

So cats will occasionally want to eat spiders etc and it's fine.

I have 3 cats at different ages, all  3 will go for anything which crawls, jumps, hops or flies. My female is probable the worst of the bunch, her favorite is moths no matter what size, and has a look of heaven when shes munching them! Yuk!!! Summer is the worst time she brings frogs home to play with and do they scream or what ( the frog that is.! ) My other half has to go to the rescue, I wont touch them. As for flies no they wont harm your cat, let your cat have fun while at the same time he / she is getting rid of unwanted parasites.
