Have you been over to RSPB South Stack yet to see the nesting Birds ?
You will need to go by the end of this Month otherwise from next Month (June) onwards the Birds will be leaving for the open Ocean.
The all Year round Birds will still remain but the spectacle will have gone for another Year !
Beware of Adders in the scrub, just incase you are gadding about !

redman, i'm so sorry, i completely missed this thread until just now.
yes, we went....and saw puffins :o) first day we saw 7 or 8 of them, went back two days later and the place was snowing with people but only a couple of puffins. loads of guillimots and razorbills, choughs round every corner, and a few kittiwakes wheeling round the cliffs. altogether a very successful trip.
had hot chocolate and brownies in the new cafe too, and chatted to a very friendly warden, and a volunteer who seems to be there every day. i'm sure the cafe will pick up as visitor numbers increase and they get their heads round the sort of food that's needed, it seems a bit bare at the moment.
ps. didn't have any snake encounters, would have quite liked to have seen one!

Very pleased you had a good visit to South Stack ethandron, always plenty to see.
Once they get their act together properly like Conwy RSPB their catering facilities will improve.
There is a new Visitor Centre complex planned and once that has been built the site should go from strength to strength.
Nice to see all the Birds on the Cliff face breeding. the Puffins are quite comical.
Enjoy your holiday on the Continent.
have you managed to get to south stack yourself? you're north wales area i think so not too far for you to go, think you'd be impressed by the new facilities there. i'm sure you're right about the catering. i think the best rspb ones are at leighton moss though, wonderful food, even tempted me to get up at the crack of dawn to catch the long tailed tits there with the promise of a big brekkie afterwards - success on both counts :)
thanks for your good wishes redman. have bought a new bikini so am hoping it will get plenty of use :o)
