The Loch of the Lowes birds - Lady and Y7 - are still incubating the eggs in the nest If the egss are viable - and how wonderful it will be if they are! - then the rangers are looking for signs of hatching any time after May 20th - not long now!
Great news Boxtops, My Great Tits, are back and forth every 2 mins, very busy, so I think the chicks have hatched (wich I had a camera like Trim). The Swifts are making so much noise in the eves in the evening, but I think it will be quite a while yet before they hatch. I wish there was some way of recording them and playing it on here (IT illiterate!)
Still want to get to the ospreys boxtops but for now we have peregrines nesting on the sea cliffs to watch. Not so great for the auks and kittiwakes though!
Bit boring at the ospreys while we wait to see if the eggs hatch, but I hope we get good news soon. I just hope we don't get the same as last year when we all thought we were going to lose The Lady.
Well shes a game old gal boxie and I'd like to think that she'll raise her three chicks and be back next year to raise some more, sadly at her age it's more likely that she'll fly off into the sunset having done more the her share to restore these beautifull birds to their place in British skies
