On my way to the waxwing site yesterday I dropped birthday cards into a friend. I now read, on the bird news, that SEVENTY!!!! waxwing were about twenty yards up the road from her house!! At the very minute I was at the other end of the road...kerb crawling. Arrrrrghhhhh!!!

There was apparently a large flock on Romney Marsh last week.

I remember many years ago a flock invading a berry tree in my garden in Birmingham - wonderful to experience.

Hi Redman....thanks for that. The Northants bird news is excellent too. Post every day but I don't know how they keep finding the waxwings. I seem to be the kiss of death at the moment...I get there and they've gone. Yesterday was a bummer though. Minutes away behind me...70!!!!

Ooooo. Missed that Lady. Just spent another hour outside Morrison's Distribution centre....bonus was I met a nice man.....but did I see a waxwing? No!

Anytime you like Ladybirder....I shall go tomorrow.... and Sunday....and Monday......even if the nice man isn't there. ;-)
