Blackcap - What Does It Eat ?

Cold morning and found an exhausted bird on Deansgate Manchester.

comatose and resp rate 60. wrapped in scarf and took it home - didnt die but in fact sort of woke up but is still dopey. Hand tame

Small - but not too small fits nicely in one hand
and is marked with sort of birdy feathers and a black cap on its head

I have looked at Blackcaps - Sylvia Atricapilla
and it looks just like that.

What do i feed it on - and do I just let it flap away when it says OK I am ready to go ? if I do that will the cats get it ?
