We have just watched a jay and a greater spotted woodpecker taking it in turns to bash each other up on the peanut feeder. The woodpecker won in the end.

Yes, Chip, that flash of iridescent blue is gorgeous.

I've been privileged to see them catch fish on a few occasions and one time a newt.

Wow!

The other day, we saw a Grey Heron catch a fish and eat it. That was a first for us.

I remember seeing a hereon on occasions perched on top of a 'no fishing' sign and sometimes attracting fish by dropping bits of bread in the water.
