..but for the first time ever we have had a pair of Linnet in the back garden. They were collecting the dog hair after our lab was brushed yesterday. I am thrilled to see something different and yes, when it comes to wildlife, I am easily pleased.

Streamside the size ranges from wren ( and somebody saw goldcrests earlier in the year ) to heron. My record in a five or so minute walk is twelve different species. I am looking forward to my trip to Ilfracombe in July. I usually manage to see rock pipits on the cliffs there and this time I shall have a day trip to Lindy to see the puffins etc.
I grew up knowing all the general birds, but never really interested to any extent. Then some years ago,I saw a bird I'd never seen before and had to look it up because i wanted to know what it was! Turned out to be a Hooded Crow and i was hooked from then on:-) I am delighted every time i see a new bird to me,anywhere, so congrats jakep, enjoy :-)
