Ill Tempered Blackies

What a cafuffle in the garden today. Blackies trying to chase away young starlings who are sitting underneath one of the bird feeders picking up what dropped down. More than one feeder, but blackies have decided they want that one. Woodpecker was here really early this morning, first time I've seen him in ages, beautiful bird.

Lucky you Maggie. I love birds and put out feeders, nest boxes etc for them but the local cats and foxes are always on the prowl so the birds have backed off quite a bit.
Living by the sea, I am surrounded by very noisy and aggressive gulls (they march along the road in gangs looking like the Jets and Sharks from West Side Story)and really stroppy magpies.. with attitude !
