Thanks Melv, Nice view of the buzzard, is it incubating ?. Not looking too impressed with the rain though.
the tree appears to be an oak covered in ivy but it appears that the nest has some conifer twigs in its construction.
Just out of interest to satisfy my inquiring mind, I wonder the twigs were selected randomly, or maybe perhaps to help keep the nest disinfected and to cut down on the numbers of flies and possible diseases ?
I can just see the head of a single chick, occasionally bobbing above the nest.

Not sure about the choice of nest materials, chippy. I know the goshawks seem to top-up their nests with conifer twigs and branches. BTW, the nest has 2 chicks, according to the chat room.
