Proving guilt would be difficult though. Unless the birds were tagged by a camera hood that was permanently sending video to the Internet and saved.

(Or, a thought; you could compulsory chip all the UK human population, I suppose. They, as a group, seem happy enough to exchange personal liberty for being told they must wear face coverings, so it must be a cinch to get them to line up for chipping. Probably get folk pushing in the queue and saying how, "If you've nothing to hide...", and, "Those unchipped must be sacked from employment and not allowed out anywhere...", etc..)

Nothing about the way this beautiful creature lost its life surprises me sadly but it does make me furious. Same on the Grouse Moors in North Yorkshire as well.
Not enough people protecting them for a start. Grr!
