Eradicated threads/suspensions

Hi Ed/spare/moderators.
I accept that there is a 'keep it nice' ethos here and I do my best to stick to the rules but do you *have* to nanny this place so much that threads are zapped and people are suspended so readily ?
Surely a little more 'let it run its course' lenience is not asking too much and a little less censorship will allow personalities/views be seen in all their true colous, warts and all.
I appreciate that you have to draw the line somewhere, but I have seen a lot of threads pulled that were crammed with fascinating insights, colourful and constructive viewpoints and several posters suspended summarily for reasons that seemed pretty innocuous to me (even though they may also conflict with my own views).
My suggestion: please give warnings if you think someone is spoiling the ship for a ha'pennyworth of tar rather than just deleting entire threads/suspending people.

To be fair, Doc, he suggested you were Delphfolk and you corrected him. And you have had other user names in the past. He didn't "put it about".

I also consider it terribly unfair to comment about another user when they are not here to defend themselves.

I sure we have all had run ins with various users over the years doc, however looking at the imput trim has had around the site answering questions which is the sites main business, he in my opinion is an asset to the site.

Doc, doesn't matter how you term it, the fact is the user in question is not here to defend himself and it is inherently wrong to discuss anyone in such terms when they cannot have their say.

I am sure as sure can be that there are users on here that find other users annoying. They either have the grace to say nothing or have the ability to take a particular user to task (within limits). It is wrong to call someone else when there is no right of reply.

And Ron . . . suspensions 'usually' are reviewed after a week, but some can be seen to last for months.
