It would be interesting to know the reasons for regular contributors being absent from the columns of AB ......e.g. AlBags and Buenchico.

The Ed would have their E/mail addresses and, possibly, could drop them a line to establish if they are alright.

Mrs O, perhaps we could have a topic for those "beyond the grave". What d'ya think?
I get put off by the "head/prefect/girl/boy " attitude on here big time stylee .
What do you mean Shaney?
Question Author
Shaney....Have you posted in the wrong thread?.:-)

Ron.
I met a lady from the US via some other forum a few years back. We wrote to each other by email and then she disappeared. Being the negative person that I am I assumed that she had died. I then realised that this was unlikely. But she had died and it was about nine months before I found out.

The friends that we make on here are still real friends and I would hate to think that nobody missed me if I was murdered by rampaging felines. What about an opt-in scheme. I would hope that my brother would tell you all that he was now the proud guardian of his feline niece and nephew, and maybe write me a nice little obituary. :-)
remember what happened when whiffey died?
his daughter posted to let people on here know, and ended up somewhat upset at the attitude of some of the posters who seemed to be being rather pushy and interfering - and forgetting that they were not real friends but people who use a forum...

by asking someone that sort of question you are expecting an answer - but its not for anyone here or the ed to demand such a response... as i said its no-ones business... people will come back when they are ready and explain if they choose to...
No I haven't posted on the wrong thread .Far too many people running around here telling others what they should and shouldn't be doing and being extremely patronising and pushy .In other words those that "hound" people.
If I were to peg out in the next few minutes I'm sure the only people interested would be my family .

shaney...You have always been a good AB friend to me and Viv. Hopefully such continues.

I will admit to having been a House Captain at school but I do not feel that in the columns of AB my attitude is that of a Head Prefect.....That, possibly, is the Ed's position.:-)

Ron.
Yes ..quite Ron ..You are no way a head prefect type ..more a very nice chap ...what I'm basically saying is there are people on here who want to know the ins and outs of a ducks backside and are not satisfied unless they know everybody elses business and prowl the AB corridors in order to do so .
Therefore if I was to disappear I wouldn't want some busybody asking where I was .If I wanted the whole of AB to know that I had broken a fingernail I would tell them :)

Cheers shaney...I know what you mean and agree. It's one of the reasons why I avoid getting involved with Chatterbank.

However, I still become concerned when people one has become 'personally' friendly with, suddenly disappear from AB.... Earlier in this thread the name of Ethel was mentioned and she was a lady who taught me a lot about computers. In fact she gave me a 'throw away' E/mail address and for some months I was in personal contact with her; but then all of a sudden communications stopped. I thought that perhaps she had become bored with me and then opted out; whereas she may have 'passed on' and to this day I do not really know what caused her exit from AB; but I am still curious.

Perhaps I now need to ask the Ed "Why is it that for every typo which I correct before posting, my sign off name is further duplicated."

Ron.
I'm the same as mrs-o none of my family know that I'm on AB, so they wouldn't think to say goodbye or let anyone on here know. (not that anyone may care). Mrs O you were the first person I thought of when the killer in Whitby was on the news, I hoped you were OK. I still think of Mollykins and wonder how she is.
Lol....She's probably still sailing about in her boat ,for which loads of people coughed up and which we heard very little about after she got the money and probably still moaning about her parents ,who must have had the patience of saints to put up with her .
Question Author
Yes Mollykins was an enigma.(if that's the right word). I think the Ed should give a reason, if he knows, for the departure of folk from our beautiful site.

Unless I suddenly 'snuff it', I will tell you all of the reason for my departure. It will of course involve a 'flounce' and I promise to complete the necessary form; bearing in mind that I can change my mind.

Oops...Have I boobed. A click onto Mollykins shows that she is still listed as active; but is no longer posting.....I now wonder why.
