I'm looking for the question about weather conditions from all over.  Has it been banned and if so how petty. I was interested in the different answers.  If it's still here somewhere - please point me at it. Thanx.

PS  It must be a hobby for some people reporting all chatty threads.  Most threads turn a bit chatty and it must take time going through them all and reporting.  Bit sad in my opinion, I can think of better things to do with my time!!

smudge, I wasn't trying to put anyone down or hurt their feelings - I meant only what I said: that chatty posts don't actually have any meaning a couple of days after the conversation is over, and unless you're really compiling detailed world weather reports there's not much point in their staying on the site. But just because I think these posts are ephemeral doesn't mean I think they're inane, and I didn't say so. (In fact I said they were perfectly fair enquiries.) Sorry if I sounded offensive; I didn't mean to.

As for shopping Qs... If there are any posts along the line of 'Can I get the new continental farthingales at Bourne and Hollingsworth?' - well, they could probably be deleted too!

ps netibiza, my post was meant for you too: sure, ask about the weather, keep the posts for a few days, just not forever imho. (BBC site is also good for providing world weather details for now and the next few days, www.bbc.co.uk )

jno - it certainly sounded like it at the time & also because it wasn't so long ago that you posted similar comments on another thread. However, I accept your apology & must learn not to be so sensitive!

I've waited a long time to enjoy the sunshine here in Bedfordshire - so I'm off out now!

In regards to removed postings, which may or may not involve the weather....

We are currently developing a function that will automatically send an email informing a member when and why their posting has been removed. Until that moment in time we ask for your patience and implicit faith that your dear AB ED would not sully his/her reputation as to be "petty" when deciding to remove a posting. Moreover, you may appreciate that due to the breadth of the site it is close to humanly impossible to remember why individual postings and/or threads are removed. So please, no more angry emails. It makes my heart hurt.
