Right now there's a commercial running with Jamie Oliver, it's for a supermarket chain by the name of ICA and Oliver is rude and gets everything wrong - the manager's name, the name of the store... Not a very funny episode on its own but it's a continuing saga that's been going on for years (not with Oliver but with the others) so it's meaningful to us because we know the staff so well and are able to picture how manager Stig - not Steve - has been waiting and preparing for this moment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epGFPxJUusM
evening all..well we are on target for tomorrow, kitchen has been delivered to garage, monster stove is squatting in kitchen and all well with the world. A paint can tried to squirt me in the eye today. It was one of the plastic clippy on lid kind and as i snapped the lid on, a big glob at it flew at my eye...I could actually see it coming when without any thought on my part, the eyer snapped shut and i got it on my eyelid and in my hair...isn't the body amazing...even a creaky old one like mine
Oh Jude you must be under le mauvais . It's turned very froid .

I want and need a new kitchen - oven still smokes like mad, xmas dinner is going to be a joy!!
woofy, glad your body works well, a couple of years ago i was sticking a strut back on a chair with superglue and as I pushed the strut back inton its hole, the glue shot out into my left eye I tried to rinse it out but had to go to local a & e, where we had to queue with everyone else who were waiting for others things, all the time my eye was getting stickier and stickier, in the end I said emergency and they washed the eye out and told me to get the hospital in ibiza. Well had no money for taxi, couldn't drive with one eye and Mr N was, playiong golf with mobile switched off but luckily I saw a golfer pal of his and he saw him up the golf and he rushed home and took me to hospital, the eye dept closed at 2pm but luckily they sorted it with no lasting damage. Strangely enough a year later a funny blueish white spot appeared under the skin at the side of the eye and when I dug it out it was glue!!!
There enjoy breakfast!

morning all...no snow but apparently there's some on the way :o(... I can live without it thanks. Same old, same old healthwise so I won't go on about it 'cept if I lose anymore weight I'll be a splinter....
(oh good job someone cares, friend over the road just rang to see if I'm ok, I hadn't drawn my curtains at the front)
My diet's a bit limited too Jude I rarely drink 'pop' or cordials, etc, but I do like a glass of lemonade sometimes, especially if I'm not feeling too good - checked it for aspartame but it's only full of sugar, so that's ok.:o) One thing for certain is that it isn't chocolate or cheese that causes the headaches because I haven't eaten either for weeks...I'd just got fed up of both so I gave them a rest. I did try Nutella a while ago tho'....yuk!
No neti, I don't like grapefruit (too sour) and a neighbour told me about the BP drug interaction some years ago....the only veg he ate, apart fom potatoes, were peas and until shortly before he died in his 80s he was as fit as a butcher's dog.
Welcome back jno....yes, yes, very 'Ooh, la la' but you'd better stop before you go through the floorboards again.... http://i46.tinypic.com/2cwl6ip.gif
Right, better see if I can wash me barnet without my brains bursting out of my eyeballs. Hope anyone who's below par feels better soon.

grooss.....tubes of blod and glue blobs.sorry to hear about the headaches Robi, just a long shot but how are your sinuses. My sis gets terrific headaches wirth sinusitis even though her actual nose doesn't get blocked.
You can get a spray called sterimar which is filtered seawater that you spray up your nose. Its very soothing although it sounds a bit barbaric and clears the sinuses without antibis. How's Charlie btw?

You know these stories about people building boats in sheds and then can't get them out - well. that's happened to my tree. Normally I do it outside in the sunshine and bring it in though the double front doors, but this time I did it in daughter's room and the top fell off as I was trying push, shove and kick it through the door, disaster, all the precious lights went everywhere. This is not a good omen - back to have another try!
My Grandad used to sniff up salt water on a regular basis for clearing his nose and for getting rid of colds. It's horrible but it does work and it kills the bugs (that's if you survive the procedure to find out). Still, I suppose it's better than glue up your nose!!!
Forgot to say 'Welcome Back' to jno yesterday.
First winter's morning that we have had ice on the bird bath. Winter has come. It's a really lovely day though.

Tree all up and house tidied, then daughter's electric blanket won't work, w just polishing her room and lo and behold - I'm in a very seasonal mood if nothing else - I found a brand new box of 100 white lights which I bought for main tree - am gutted, anyway have just bunged them on the damned tree, anything else bad happens then I'm taking to my bed until January - suppose to be having hair done tomorrow, dare I risk It??
erm yes Vinny absolutely, couldn't agree more...do drop us a dotted line again soon :o)
Neti the highlight of xmas is you & your antics with the tree...which year was it you missed out the middle part of it? I'm holding my breath as I wait for electrical breakdown no 3 (1. Main xmas lights - now on reduced impact with a shorter string but I am saving the planet I suppose. 2. freeview recorder - I've got another basic freeview box but I daren't start pulling plugs out of anywhere. I'm taking bets on 3. ???? my money's on the tv...or all 3 of 'em, they're all ancient). I'm not bothering with my hair, I'll weave a bit of tinsel through me hairnet & I've postponed the dentist tomorrow...there's a chance I could feel ok but if I don't it would be letting them down at the last minute. They still complained I should have given them 48hrs notice...tut....
I bet they'd filled the appt within the hour.
Woofy I've no idea where these headaches start & finish...sometimes it feels like sinus that turns into migraine, sometimes the other way around. Could even be cluster headaches.

ooh, sorry woofy I just remembered you asked about Charlie...he's ok thanks, back to his usual demanding self but he tiddled on the floor last night, just what you need when you don't want to bend down. Luckily it was the kitchen, easy to mop up! It's another old age/winter thing I suppose, I'll have to boot him outside more often :o)..in the summer the door's usually open for him to come & go as he pleases.
