Music On Iphone
Can anyone help me with this issue I have with the music on my iphone. I have the app, and within it there are several albums of music, not purchased or downloaded but recorded on a laptop and then transferred via i-tunes. I have had these albums on my phone for many years, and have moved them with each new phone. My husband has exactly these albums on his phone also.
Just recently the tracks have stopped playing. At first I thought it was that they were playing but something was wrong with the sound. But they are actually not playing. The exact same tracks/albums on my husband's phone are playing just fine.
Does anyone know what the problem might be. I could understand that there might be a major issue with accessing this music if it applied on both phones. But as it doesn't .........

I can't work out why the data on my phone might be corrupted when it's the exact same data, from the same source on my husband's phone. It's not just some tracks, it's all of them not playing on mine, all playing on his.
I have tried turning the phone off and back on. I have uninstalled the app, and reinstalled it.
Another strange thing. From some internet trawls it seems that if i'm not subscribed to itunes match, unless the music is stored locally, it's not in icloud. I've never subscribed to itunes match to my knowledge, so i am assuming my husbands phone has the music stored locally, and I dont. No idea why I don't as I definitely used to have music on my phone.
So now - how can I get the music on my husband's phone to transfer to mine.
Well, it seems that I can't access the music, even if it was taken from a CD that was already mine, without an apple music subscription. Something to do with the sync facility which you can't use without said subscription. I have taken out a subscription for 3 months, as it's free, and lo and behold, I can get hold of my music again.
However, it doesn't explain how my husband was able to access this music before I took out the apple subscription. So for 3 months I can get it, but no way am I about to pay even more money to apple, I'd rather get hold of it some other way. I don't mind paying apple for music from their streaming platform, but when the music was mine, bought and paid for in the first place, this seems to be a bit of a rip off. Colour me surprised.
