what does a red asterix mean alongside your rating? and who puts it there?

im new to all this, loving it, but getting a bitlost along the way too, losing track of what ive answered etc... great, to learn though

the person who asked it puts it there. If you look alongside this answer, there should be a panel saying 'Rate this answer'

no, no, extreme modesty forbids me to accept more than one. In fact I have often returned unwanted asterisks to the queen and asked her to redistribute them among the poor workers of the East End of London.

click on 'my profile' under your unsername and click on questions i;ve answered, tand all your replies will come up

If you look on the left hand side, just above the red Topics box, you'll see "my profile." If you click on that, you get another orange page and at the bottom of it, five more boxes, one of which is "Qs I gave answers to" Click on that one, you'll see the threads you've answered and Robert is yir mither's brither!
