The AB Suggestions Page

Hi All!
Sorry I have been unable to respond to any questions on the Suggestions page as I have been ill all this week. In answer to some of the questions about sub-topics - We are still working to improve the format of the AB to make the new sub-topics easy to use. This is a long process as it involves moving old questions and answers, and discussions into new sections. My being ill has put us a bit behind, but our dedicated team has been working on making the AB the best Q & A site on the web.
The new improvements will make the sub-topics easy to navigate, and even allow for discussion of questions, so please put up with our growing pains for now!
Also, in response to a question about whether or not the AB team use the AB Suggestions page - the answer is YES!
I can't speak for what has happened in the past, but over the last two months, the AB team has checked the Suggestions page every day as we work on improving the site. Almost every improvement we are working on comes directly from a user's suggestion.
Finally, a user has suggested that the AB is building a 'premium rate' site. That is completely false. We are proud to work on a site that offers a valuable service to users for free, and we will continue to offer that service for free in the future.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions, even though we aren't able to answer every email or suggestion personally we are reading and using your suggestions everyday!

I think you must have got the drift of what many of us have been saying - less sub topics so we can browse more categories, and go back to the 'friendly' banter between ABers, following them from place to place and meeting up with old friends in new places.

I think you will find that Vidkun and Quizzling are one and the same person and a very appropriate pair of names too. It seems sh*t stirrers were not just to be found in Norway during WW2.
The cash machine ate my premium card recently and I got my name in the papers .....oh the pitfalls of stardom !

I have now looked back at the thread -
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/AB-Suggestions/ Question240778-3.html
and it was a thread on a rumoured new Premium / Platignum service , with the Ed (of that era) entering into the spirit of the spoof.
perhaps, some Abers took quizzling's spoof too seriously?
I am sure that the currene editorial team is just as amused ...... laugh it off is the best way?

By the way Quising or Vidkun or whatever your name is .TCL's thread was a bit of fun ..you don't seriously believe that we are so unintelligent we can't go in for a bit of gentle mickey taking and have a bit of a laugh.
Far better that than some of the insults I see hurled around on a daily basis on AB ....if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.

This is true Neti ..I had a devil of a job getting a new card ...the things they want to know !! Why should I tell them my shoe size ?
And I so liked my card ....all glittery ..,
If it wasn't for the fact that they send out free Mantovani CD's and keyrings on a regular basis I wouldn't have bothered.
It's the price we have to pay old girl for being "Celebrities"

I think everybody needs to relax and chill out a little ....
I'd hate to take the temperature of one or two ABers at the moment!
Would be good to have an Editorial Blog summary of what the editorial team have concluded from the last few weeks of hectic posting by ABers --> and, what is going to be the final (hopefully) change to Topics Sub-Topics.
At least then, there could be one final blitzkriek from ABers!!

Vidkun get yir facts straight before you start making any accusations. Youve posted that link in two threads but if you look here http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/AB-Suggestions/ Question321925.html youll see Miss Ed banned the person responsible.
Is it coincidence that Quizzling has been banned and the Christian name of the Norwegian traitor Quisling was guess what, VIDKUN

In an ongoing effort to keep the Platinum AB+ users happy, we have produced this manual to help explain some of the intricacies of IT troubleshooting. To show that we spare no expense when it comes to the quality of support that we give; we have enlisted the help of a famous Doctor to help explain things on a level that our average Platinum user can understand. Hope this helps.
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port, and the bus is interrupted at a very last resort, and the access of the memory makes your floppy disk abort, then the socket packet pocket has an error to report.
If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash, and the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash, and your data is corrupted cause the index doesn't hash, then your situation's hopeless and your system's gonna crash.
If the label on the cable on the table at your house, says the network is connected to the button on your mouse, but your packets want to tunnel to another protocol, that's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall.
And your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss, so your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse; then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang, 'cuz sure as I'm a poet, the sucker's gonna hang.
When the copy on your floppy's getting sloppy in the disk, and the macro code instructions are causing unnecessary risk, then you'll have to flash the memory and you'll want to RAM your ROM, and then quickly turn off the computer and be sure to tell your Mom!
