if a link isn't working but is still the right link, highlight it (drag your arrow across it with your finger down), hit control+c, then go to the address bar (the space above that says http://www.theanswerba... etc), clear that out, put your arrow in it and hit control+v. The address should copy there, then just hit Enter.
you don't put emails in. Do you mean links, and if so are you putting the links in?
If that is the case, the best way is to get the address from the actual page, use copy and then paste into your post, making sure you add a space at the end of it.
The email from AB has an extra character(s) at the ens so is not a genuine link.
do as jno suggests and copy and paste the URL into the address bar of your browser BUT DO NOT PRESS ENTER/GO JUST YET.
Delete the extra character (if I remember correctly it is a ">" character) so that the URL ends in .html with nothing following it. Now you can press ENTER/GO.
Thank you for your suggestions, I will have to take a course in computing as I don't know how to copy and paste yet, absolute beginner, thought it was a fault by AB. Everyone is so helpful and I do appreciate your kindness. Thank you.
a) COPY.
Use the right button on your mouse to right-click on the link in your email.
Choose 'Copy Shortcut' or 'Copy Link Location' (or similar depending upon which browser you are using.
b)PASTE
Now click in the address bar of your browser - right up the top of your browser window and again right-click and choose 'Paste'
(By the way, your 'browser' is 'Internet Explorer' or 'Mozilla Firefox' or any similar program that lets you view pages over the Internet.)
c) MODIFY
Click at the right of the pasted address and then press 'Backspace' on your keyboard to remove surplus characters until it ends in .html
d) Click on 'Go' or press the return/enter
You will be taken to the linked question.
