Is there any way to stop people posting crossword clues in sections like media, how it works and history? Really annoying, especially when there's a long list of them from the same person.

Well. I think you have two choices:

(a) Just politely point out that they'd be better off posting in a more apropriate section (tell them which).

(b) Slate them off for taking up space in your favourite section.

Which do you think will be most likely to elicit the required response without landing you in the doo-doos?
