Criminal damage courtesy car claim

My car was driven into whilst parked outside my house, by an uninsured driver who had taken his sister's motability car without permission. The police have caught him as he crashed her car too. My car is a write-off. Even though I have fully comprehensive insurance, my insurers wont provide a courtesy car as it's not repairable. I need a car to be able to do my job. Is there any central fund which will help me get a courtesy car in the short term as this is urgent? It would be just until the claim is paid out and I can get a new car. The MIB website says it can only help as a last resort if there is no other way to claim compensation. Also, will I lose my no claims discount now?

You might get a better response and advice if you put this in Insurance. Personally, I find it strange that having courtesy car cover (I assume that is what you meant - you can get fully comp without the car) that you haven't been given one. That said, in my experience, courtesy car cover generally only runs during a repair, as the car is USUALLY provided by the repairer. Also, most have a limit on how long you have it, so having one for weeks or months is a no no anyway.
