As a newcomer here I have to say how appalled I am to see members making crass remarks towards black people. I myself am a half caste. I was born in england.I hold down a good job and have brought my children up to respect others. It pains me to see blacks being the object of amusement as just seen in chatterbank. Live and let live. I hope the editor removes those remarks!!

I wouldn't report anything in that particular thread - it is a fact that people can and do say things that are hugely embarrassing to others.

Old people do it to get revenge on their children for the embarrassment they caused in their teenage years, I'm sure. :)

Ethel the post was about my nan who is a pensioner now but wasnt always , but has apparently always used those phrases.In future if my posts confuse you in any way please ask me.Far better than assuming and more accurate than google too.DTH?

Cherry bea there was nothing racist intended in my post , quite the contrary , and i changed the N word so as not to offend.If you're suggesting i was using offensive words then as stated by another user the use of half caste instead of mixed race , may not offend you , but will possibly offend others.Do not set yourself up as a critic , to only make the same mistake yourself.
In future id suggest you think before you post .

Legend - my tongue was firmly in my cheek with that comment. Of course I know the common vernacular of people of pension age, and the terms they have used all their lives. It is also true some ageing parents deliberately try to embarrass their offspring for a joke.

Your posts could never confuse me an as I said I wasn't offended. Perhaps you should think before you post?
