As a newcomer here I have to say how appalled I am to see members making crass remarks towards black people. I myself am a half caste. I was born in england.I hold down a good job and have brought my children up to respect others. It pains me to see blacks being the object of amusement as just seen in chatterbank. Live and let live. I hope the editor removes those remarks!!

Which racist remarks are you referring to?
I've seen remarks about every one. But if you can find any in particular then please feel free to point them out.
I'm surprised to see you using such an out-moded expression, cherrybea. Mixed-race is generally considered more acceptable these days.
there are lots of people find ..........half caste........offensive!

England bty.
cherrybea where have you seen them, see above there is a report this question , when you click on it , it will open up a new box .you can report them this way. racist remarks do not stay on for long, welcome to the answerbank
as a mother of a mixed race child i believe the term half caste is not politically correct anymore and as you use this term to describe yourself im suprised you find these remarks offensive which remarks are we talking about please show me an example
when i say above this i mean't on the thread where the racist remarks have been made
I thought today was 'have a pop at a pensioner day' on Chatterbank, I hadn't noticed anything racially malicious.

Cherry, over the past 6 years on AnswerBank, I've seen nasty remarks made about ginger, fat, skinny, special needs, etc., people on here.

You're right, it's not nice at all, but you have to make allowances for the ignorant (for want of a better word) people that make them.
windmill- as a new user (ie, green) cherrybea doesn't have the 'Report this question' facility.

Being over 50 I use the term half caste if that explains why. I refer to "I dont believe it " post in the chatterbank.
cherrybea can you post a link to it then some of the good people on here will report it.
sorry i did not remember about the not seeing a report this option for green members ( you are only green for about 2 weeks , i think )
thank you boo for pointing that out
I had a look at the post you refer too and I can't see any racist remarks, only a few anecdotes of embarrassing remarks made by old people. Being embarrassed by these remarks would surely mean that you don't agree with them.
There is also another thread in chatter bank titled 'White Lies' perhaps you'd like to report that also?
That's the thread I thought was having a go at pensioners!

How odd that we both saw it and reacted differently.

Maybe it's because I'm well past pension age I thought it was mocking the aged.
ethel can you please post a link
cherrybea all they are saying is what their elderly parents/grandparents used to say and at the risk of sounding rude you have just done the same thing
