have you any books you picked up, put down, then thought this is rubbish, not working, or can't get into.
I have tried with a number of books, one was Gullivers Travels, but somehow i don't actually like it, not sure why...

have yet to finish any Thomas Hardy book.
Jasmine nights, one of the last season's richard and judy, load of tosh. I am reading scaramouche by sabtini at the moment, very humorous, it was written in 1921, enjoying that. I'm determined to read the free classics on my tablet and so far the ones i have managed are all good, The Professor by Charlotte Bronte was charming, loved it.

Dan Brown, load of tosh, got half way through the first one and gave up.
I avidly read anything by Clive Cussler a couple of years ago. Last week, I bought his latest, which was co-written with someone else.
It so superficial and contrived, I just gave up. Very disappointed.

shame isn't it, seeing as how there is this hype, must read and so on, you buy, borrow the book and it's a total let down.
by the way i loved Life of Pi, a classic
The 50 Shades of Grey books. Was loaned them but I think I need to give them back mostly unread.
Satanic Verses
Far from the Madding Crowd
The Book of Mormon
I haven't wanted to even start the 50 shades of grey twaddle, never mind finish them....
Read all of Dicken's except Bleak House, can't get passed page 20!
Austin - any of them
and any so called chic-lit, Danielle Steele, Jackie Collins, Jilly Cooper, page three and that's it, bored to tears
Jung Chang's 'Wild Swans' - no idea why as I usually read everything from cover to cover. I just cannot get beyond the first few chapters
Oh yes, and Mantel's 'Wolf Hall'
Da vinci Code
Anything by Salman Rushdie
The final Harry potter book - lost interest by then
Wuthering Heights

Davinci Code, I did eventually finish it but only because I ran out of other stuff to read.
A book from childhood called Alf Gorila - Bloody awful.
Erich von Däniken tops my list!!
I didn't even get halfway through Wolf Hall. I couldn't even listen to it as an Audiobook. I couldn't get into Chocolat either. If I don't like a book, I don't try to finish it. Life is too short!!!!
As a boy in the late 50's and early 60's I was always reading exciting adventure books especially anything by Enid Blyton. But I kept having "improving" books put in front of me, and one of them was the Water Babies by Charles Kingsley. I just couldn't get past the first few pages and this caused no end of eyebrow raising and tutting by various Aunts. Picked it up again last last year, and guess what...still couldn't read it !
i couldn't finish 'The Mystery of Edwin Drood'
I agree with smoneybags. Far be it for me to gainsay all the critics and award jurys but I think Wolf Hall is unreadable. Within a few pages I didn't know what the hell was going on. I think she needs a good Editor personally but I appreciate that I will be howled down for saying so !
The Golden Bough / James Frazer
North and South / Elizabeth Gaskell
The Bible
Loads of others
