Aww Daffy. Never read any of his books but I can still feel empathy for his disease. Very cruel & I wish we could find a cure.
Oh dear how sad.RIP
What a great shame. RIP Terry :o(

Sad News, R I P.
RIP :-(
Noooooooooooooo. I love Pratchett! I also have several signed copies, slinky. I will, as I always have, treasure them. Sad day
Very sad.

I never got my head around the appeal of his books, but I know he was massively popular.

I remember our local shopping centre had two book signings on the same day.

I was in WH Smith's for about fifteen minutes, during which one person bought, and had signed a book by cricket Fred Truman.

On the lower mall, at Waterstones, there was a queue of several hundred people down the mall and out into the street to get an autograph by TP who was signing his latest offering that day.
“DON'T THINK OF IT AS DYING'', said Death. ''JUST THINK OF IT AS LEAVING EARLY TO AVOID THE RUSH.”
Sad news. I'm sure I saw him on television no time ago.
RIP Terry - I found him very inspirational.
Ah I see, multiple threads.
Isn't it unusual to die from Alzheimer's disease at such a young age? Must have been very aggressive :o(
I've not read his works, but I do have a couple and I can't wait to read them. I think he's been a part of everyones life at some stage due to his books and he is one of the best and will be missed by us all. I just hope that he is at peace now. RIP Terry Pratchett xx
RIP Terry.

I haven't read his books but saw many of the TV appearances where he was frank and open about his illness which was always compelling yet his wry humour still came across, regardless of the crisis he was in.

I didn't expect him to go so soon, though.
Big shock. Read all the Discworld novels and a couple of others. RIP TP.
At least he didn't suffer too long with it and, in that, he is lucky. RIP
7/8 years is about right. My Mum had Alzheimer's, and when I looked back, it started 7 years before she died. Some things we didn't realise what it was at first, then it got worse. Terrible disease!
sad indeed
