not getting any help from your teacher on this one? I must say I have no idea whether you think the portrait of Leila works; you're just going to have to think it through yourself. But it's about growing up, encountering the wider world, catching a glimpse of old age from the fat man then forgetting it again as she's swept up in the pleasures of youth.
