Can I find how many copies in a print run?

Is there a place where I can find out how many books were printed in an edition, i.e. how many books were printed in the first edition of the new Harry Potter book (I don't want to know for that book and was only an example!!)??!

The only people who would know for sure are, a) The publishers, and, b) the printers. Unless of course the publishers boast about the number of copies in their publicity campaign, as sometimes happens.
