I've just been given a painting by my Aunt who says the 'WCS' signature on it shows it was done by Winston Churchill! It's quite large but not that great - a kind of watery boat scene with a bridge and trees. A bit dour if you ask me.
Anyone know if it could be valuable or how I found out what it's called and if it really is by WC?

Have a look on google images. type in winston churchills paintings and there are lots. Many with boats bridge and trees. Good luck, you might be sitting on a fortune !!!!:-)
His initials were W S C. Winston Spencer Churchill. I can't think why he might have used W C S instead.
Here's a link about Chartewell, where he lived and painted, for relaxation. Lovely house, well worth a visit.
